Hi

Currently running Vista Home Edition and on each occasion when I run CCleaner a request appears on screen stating ''A program needs your permission to continue'' I press continue for it to run.
Must mention that my UAC is activated.
Can I expect this message on each occasion when I run the program, or there is a way around it apart from disabling UAC which is perhaps not a good idea,
Awaiting your input

Thanks
Henri

P,S. Unable to send a screenshot because when message appears, unable to use snipping tool.

Hi Henri, and welcome to the forum.

Yes, disabling UAC is a bad idea.

This is normal for a program that needs elevated privileges.

The only way I know of is to start CCleaner and then minimize it to System Tray.

Options > Advanced > Minimize to System Tray.

You will need to open CCleaner and minimize it to the tray after each restart of Computer.

If you don't use CCleaner that often, UAC may be the way to go so you aren't running an idle process.

What snipping tool are you using?

Doesn't the Print Scrn button work? See message and press Print Scrn then open Paint and paste it in there, save as JPG file and post that. ;)
