After I used the CCleaner Registry Cleaner/Repair my CD and DVD drives are no longer working. I get a message that the drivers are corrupt or missing. However when I boot up to my CD/DVD drive it does work. It just does not work in a windows XP environment. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and updating the drivers, using driver detective and tried the manufacturer's websites to no avail.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Have a look at this Microsoft KB article. I suspect that this might be your problem. Good luck!
