I thought all Chrome Browsing History tended to be in the public domain anyway !!!

Same problem here, too. Same versions of Chrome and CCleaner. Imho it's not important if the history ends in public domain. It's important that locally the data is erased. Thats what CCleaner is here for.
@Alan_B: Do you have a source for that information? I'd like to learn a bit about the details.

I remember seeing privacy concerns when they first announced Chrome.
I have just used Google

I tested severall Google Chrome versions, now the 2.0.163.0: CCleaner 2.16.830 delete the cache OK, but not the other Chrome data ; and you can't add the related files to be deleted, because they are not available in that window proposed by CCleaner (...Chrome\User Data\Default\) The way I found to clean that is either "clean history" through Google Chrome or using such a tool as "Total commander" which allows to see these system files, and delete them.
New information:
if you use such a tool as Total Commander, you can get the complete path, even in "system files": you can copy that path by selecting it, and paste it
in the CCleaner Window "options" - "personalisation"- "add a file" file name.
Then, you see the hidden files and you can add the related files (I added all the individual files in the "user data" folder (C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\)
It works: when you "run CCleaner", your history is gone!
