Right now i am just using windows extracter to open any of my files. What other programs are there and what is the best. I maienly do .zip files. I heard winrar was pretty good. thanks in advanste

I use winrar as well. Although after 30 days you should pay for it or put up with the nag screens.

Only WinRAR for me!

If you need a freeware archiving program here's as few links:
7-Zip, ICEOWS, and TUGZip. Don't forget to check the freeware list in the software section.
Complexity of incoherent design.

IZArc (freeware) for me... but development seems very slow... i use power archiver (shareware) in the past...

7-Zip for me no flash look just does a extremely good job of compression and extraction other wise I suggest Tugzip.

For me it did exactly everything I used WinRAR for but but with no cost. After more research and the realization that it is a compression software and does not need to be flashy 7-Zip does everything I want it to do but less resources and less download and installation size. I would recommend 7-Zip.

TUGZip could really shine as a good freeware archiver if only the programmer would fix some obvious typos in the program.
