Hi

I have a SanDisk flash drive that worked until this morning (12 Sep 2008, 11:00 AM CST)

I worked on, closed all files, and ejected the flash drive.

About one hour later, I plug the drive into a USB port.

The blue light on the flash drive flickered once and then died.

I right-click on Drive F and select Open.

Message: Please insert a disk into Removable Disk (F:).

I have tried it in different ports on different computers.

Same outcome.

Help.

If you have tried it on different computers and different ports it doesn't sound promising. Things unfortunately do just stop working.

Only other thing I can think of at the moment is shutting down the computer, plugging in the flash drive, and seeing if it's recognised after boot.

Did you do the 'safely remove hardware' routine?
