I got a GPF ( General Protection Fault ) message when i was trying to re-install my Window XP, the message is :

Dunno but if that happened to me I'd make sure all peripherals were unplugged like printers, and other usb devices, then I'd do a quick format and start the Windows installation all over again.
Complexity of incoherent design.

Did you try Andavari's advice?

Remove the power cable and depress the power switch for 10 seconds.

Boot a Windows CD and FORMAT the hard drive then install Windows.
