Install update - remove preexisting first ?

Before installing an update, should I first uninstall the previous versiion?

What software title are you referring to exactly?

If it's CCleaner, and Recuva you don't have to uninstall any previous version, just install the newest one right over the last one. With CCleaner it's important to just install over the previous version to retain all your settings.

With Defraggler I'm not totally sure and think you may have to remove the old version first, but that may also depend upon your operating system version, etc.
