My friend needs an office suite installed on her computer. I am not sure if we should use the stable 1.1.4 or the latest snapshot build of of the 2.0 beta.

She will probably only use the word processing program. She will be slow to upgrade from the beta to newer releases.

What have been your experiences with the 2.0 beta?

I like the beta 2.0 version. To be honest If all they need is a word processor get abiword and all of the dictionaries and up grades:

I use the 2.0 beta version for power point and abiword for word processing. Abiword is a much smaller download than open office also.

if you are using in production environment... dont try beta software... it offen still contain unresolve bugs... but on the other hand, it provide improvement in features, stability etc... i like the beta version better... at least for now...
