I have noticed that often after analysis, the cleaner keeps cleaning and never gets to the end....Can't stop it. Cancel only freezes the PC, and the only way to get control back is to power off....

Any Ideas? This happens when there are many entries to clean, and happens when there are only two or three entries to clean. Happens about 50 % of the time.

Thanks for help.

Is this the first version you have used CCleaner Ponder?

Which version are you using?

XP or vista?

Are you closing down your browsers first (FFox IE or opera?)

This is the first version I have used.

V. 2.09.600

XP Home, SP2

Browsers are closed.

I have isolated the slowness and stalling to System Temp Files....When this is checked, scan and clean are slow and sometimes hangs. If System Temp files in not checked, then everything is very fast.....Thanks for helping...Ponder

Hi Hazelnut.

While I did isolate the source of the slowness, I really have not idea how to correct it....BUT, I have used CCleaner several times today and all of a sudden the scans and the cleaning is very fast again...no slowness and no hang ups....This with System Temp Files checked!!

Do you have any idea what WAS going on...so that I can fix if it happens again or keep it from happening again?

Thanks..Ponder

It may be one of those 'computer' event we all get.

At least you are ahead of the game now in that if it happens again you know what it is. Perhaps unticking and re-ticking the box triggered it into action :)
