I had to stop defraggler at 9% in. it had been running for over 6 hours and i had to shut down comp. now what? how do i resume it at that point?

You just start again whatever has been "defragged" before is OK.
Is this a large "defrag" job with very little room to do it in.
It will also run quicker if you break it down to some files than some more etc.
Save time by not defragging System Volume files and any other large files that don't really need to be defragged.
