If Defraggler is supposed to be portable with "a compact single EXE application" why does it need to be installed?

And why does the installation directory end up with more than "a compact single EXE application" including an uninst.exe?

I just dragged a copy of the exe onto my memory stick from a system that I'd installed it on. I had no problems running it on other systems.

Alternatively, if you install it directly on portable media, just remove anything other than the defraggler.exe from the portable media.

If for any reason you need to 'uninstall' it - just wipe it :)

While I think about it, a 'Piriform Portable Media Pack' can be created on portable media by putting :-

Recuva.exe
Deraggler.exe
CCleaner.exe AND winapp.ini

in a directory and either creating shortcuts in the root of the pen drive/portable device, or linking them to a sidebar thingie installed
on the said PM device (I use RocketDock on XP)

How about it that 'Piriform Portable Media Pack' peeps ? :)

Thanks Dray, I understand everything you've said and I had already done as you suggested. My point really was why is it being promoted as portable with "a compact single EXE application" when it isn't.

I'm guessing this might be a stupid question, but where exactly is winapp.ini? Or do you mean the .ini file for each program?

Maybe Dray meant "Winapp2.ini" which you can get here.
