I am not trying to be a smart a$$ but no adware is not on the list any more

Quote

NoAdware was listed on this page because of concerns with false positives and the use of aggressive, deceptive advertising (1, 2, 3) including exploitation of the name "ad-aware" (1). Earlier versions of NoAdware were also the same underlying application as Adware Hitman, Consumer Identity, Protect Your Identity, SpyBan, SpywareAssassin, Spyware C.O.P., SpywareKilla, The Adware Hunter, & TheSpywareKiller. Over the past few months, NoAdware has taken aggressive steps to reign in its affiliates (who were primarily responsible for the unsavory advertising) and released a new version of NoAdware (version 3.0) that addresses our concerns with false positves. Given these changes we can no longer regard NoAdware as "rogue/suspect" anti-spyware.
But i agree you should remove it right away

The latest review from PC Magazine recomends Spyware Doctor 3.2 over Spy Sweeper 4: June 19, 2005 PC MAG antispyware scanner review.

I feel secure with just ad-aware and spybot installed. The only programs I have running resident are my AV, FW, and UPS shutdown software.

Spyware removers are a must have, the same can be said about spyware prevention.

Spyware removers I use:
* Ad-Aware SE Personal
* Spybot - Search & Destroy
* CWShredder

Spyware prevention I use:
* SpywareBlaster
* SpywareGuard
* ZoneAlarm Firewall (free edition)
Complexity of incoherent design.

It may not be on that list anymore, but Spybot S&D removes NoAdware's entire folder if you scan with S&D. At least, it did last week when I scanned a customer's computer.

I knew it used to be on spyware warrior's list, but always thought it was clean now as my other spyware cleaner apps never detect it.
