esteemed forum members,
Both our firefox and IE seem to be affected by malware which is hijacking the browsers and redirecting us to sales sites, adult friend finder, etc. I have tried every self-help thing I'm aware of: I've used CCleaner to delete startup entries, gone into msconfig and unchecked the obvious startup, gone in and manually removed the entry from regedit which is O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BM6ba2e55b] Rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\wxhpdycy.dll",s or some simulation - [the last part of the dll file name changes every time I seem able to delete it but it keeps reinstalling apparently.] I used HijackThis to scan and "fix" it. I downloaded Smitrem and ran it in safe mode with system restore off. Nothing seems to work. I'm not sure how to identify this problem to seek any more self-help. the filepath doesn't produce anything, and the search functions on both browsers is only accessible if I go through www.msn.com. If I open either browser to google.com, then it hangs up for minutes, and then shoots us to the other sites mentioned above. If you need any more information, please feel welcome to email me. Thank you in advance for your time. Peace and joy to you,
Vonnie :-)
