Spybot Search and Destroy is the best antispyware tool ever, because it is both free and topnotch.

I just tell spybot S & D not to do this, the fix is untick make system restore, and you make system restore that it not take out old restore as it goes.

I've had Spybot S&D installed for a long time. However, I only use the "Immunize" function. Is it worth keeping it installed if that's the only function I ever use?

I usually run it after a definition update to see what it finds and other than a few minor tracking things it has not found anything significant so far.

I do use the Immunize feature as the update usually add several items.

I disable my HOSTS file before the scan as it takes AGES to progress through the HOSTS file if it is present.

I do not use its HOSTS file entries but only hpHosts and MVPS HOSTS files managed with HostsMan.
