I just downloaded CCleaner and ran it with the default options, and after restarting my computer everything appeared normal. Then I went back on-line and found my Firefox bookmarks had been deleted. Is there any chance of retrieving the bookmarks at this point?
Windows Vista
Firefox/2.0.0.12
I'm sure there is an answer somewhere here, but I couldn't find it.
Thanks for any help.

Ok, you can delete this. I found my bookmarks. I installed CCleaner as the "administrator" and went back online as an administrator. The bookmarks weren't there because I didn't save them as an administrator. I just went back online as a user, and there were my bookmarks. Please excuse someone who has just enough computer knowledge to be dangerous.
