Can I copy my MS XP Ff profile to a thumb drive and then copy it to a Vista pc?

Here I copy and paste the whole XP folder "C:\Documents and Settings\"USERNAME"\Application Data\Mozilla" to another partition and or thumb drive and use that for a backup.

If you delete this folder Firefox goes through the motions of a fresh install.

I use FEBE for backing up everything firefox related.

Backing up Firefox is easy if you follow the instructions hazelnut linked. If that is too much work you can use this little app. It backs up Firefox for you as well as Thunderbird and other Mozilla programs. Mozilla recommends using it. http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/
