The new year brings a new release of CCleaner which adds performance and usability improvements. This includes a tray icon to show when CC is cleaning in the background, and status text that displays what it's currently cleaning. This only displays during slow processes (e.g. secure deletion of a large file).

Plus the usual speed tweaks and bug fixes!

CCleaner v2.04.543
  • Added system tray icon when background cleaning.
  • Added minimize to system tray option.
  • Optimized file deletion routines.
  • Improved Firefox file analysis speed.
  • Added text status info for slow cleaning processes.
  • Added program icons to the uninstall tool.
  • Fixed bug with saving window location when maximized.
  • Fixed bug with 64bit OS registry keys.
  • Fixed cookie issue with foreign language usernames.
  • Fixed bug with running CCleaner as a scheduled task.
  • Added Netscape 9.0 support.
  • Updated Antivir and Foxit Reader cleaning.
  • Minor GUI tweaks and fixes.
  • Other minor bug fixes.

Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\H+BEDV\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic V 7
not
Detect=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Avira\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic

I must suggest a tool tip change while its cleaning... cause is the same when CCleaner is minimized and while is cleaning and I see this as an incorrect point of view...

for all the rest... thanks you guys for the great job...

Hi, Just installed CCleaner v2.04 and found it runs slower than earlier version. I'm going to filehippo to get earlier version back.

That's really weird....to me it's faster...try disabling the Desktop icon and the Start menu options..it should speed it up a lot.

Is there a way to convince CCleaner to delete temp files from the D: partition?
Is it working only on the C: partition?
