I have an AKAI digital camera (model DC-7370). All the pictures were deleted from the card several months ago. I just discovered Recuva and thought this was the answer. There have been pictures taken since this fatal error but not alot. Anyway, when I put the memory card in the reader I am able to select a drive (removable disk E) to scan. After clicking on scan I do not get anything. At the bottom ofthe screen the message says:
FAT16, 976MB. Cluster Size: 16384. Found 0 files.
What does this mean? Are my photos lost forever?
When I go to my My Computer, I can click on Removable Disk E and a folder DCIM is displayed. This leads to a folder labeled 100Media. This folder is 76.5 MB with IMG0001 - IMG0012, that is all that is on the card.
I am new to this and appreciate all the help.

momoftom, if you have a look at post 4 in this thread
http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showto...82&hl=fat16
You will see why Recuva does not work on Fat16.

I used the digital camera MIRAY to format the SD card, and then for benchmarking purposes I have tried several programs and Magic Recovery found all 229 deleted files where recuva found nil!
Keep it up guys, there's more work to be done! Regards.

Can you provide me with an image of the SD card and I'll look into this further. I'll PM you with details.
