My laptop suddenly lost it's intenet connection. I had it connected to my home network via a wireless router. It suddenly lost it's connection today. After trying several different things, I tried hooking it up directly to the router via a ethernet cable - no luck. I then tried hooking it up directly to the modem - bypassing the router - which also didn't work (even though I was able to do this in the past when I was first working on setting up the network).

I'm hoping this doesn't mean the network card is somehow toast - but I'm at a loss. Any suggestions?

Reinstall all network-related device drivers, reboot and try again.
