First of all,

Did you really come here for feedback on your site or was it just to promote your site?
Considering it was the one and only post you ever made then I believe it was promotion rather than feedback that you was after.
You never even returned the post by xd3vilx with a thank you, which would have been a decent thing to do.

If you really are after feedback, then I personally think the AdJungle ads are appalling.
The Tools page names Ad-Aware as AdAware, I think at a quick glance this could look like Adware, please include the hyphen and proof read your pages before uploading.
The Tools page does not contain any adverts down the left hand side like all the other pages, (continuity is a good thing).
Other than these three gripes it does not seem a bad site with regard to layout, maybe just a bit lacking in information, and too keen on being referred to and money making, i.e. from advertising or donations.

I too have a site like yours, but with more information, no advertising, and no donation links, because I want to help people protect their computers, not just for themselves but for all the other internet users who are sick and tired of malware, or scumware as I normally refer to it as.
My site was/is created and developed by me after having so many friends and family who were getting caught out, I was forever writing out information for them to follow, or emailing the afore mentioned information, and in many cases going to their houses whenever I found time to fix the problems myself.
This was originally my reason for joining this forum, as I was going to use it to promote my site, but then decided not to due to the amount of help and information given by the other members of this site, most of whom have considerable knowledge of such matters anyway, with two members standing out more than others, namely DjLizard and Tarun.

Sorry to everyone else for such a boring and probably vindictive post, but needs must.

I must agree with Capman. The site is littered with ads, poor spelling and grammar, numerous outdated items as well.

Things should be kept clean, easy to navigate and something that flows in an easy and simple manner.

It's funny too. By entering that site if I was to follow your directions I could sue you if anything happened to my computer.

I also wonder if the site is W3C compliant. With all those ads literally the site an end user could feel they are at risk to catch malware just from visiting the site. More than likely they'll get tracking cookies in the least from all of the ads.

wow... thanks for the feedback. Even though you guys question my intentions.

First xd3vilx posted a message on my site which I replied to.

Second, I looking for feedback on the web site design and the process used.

I choose CCleaner Forums to post this request because I have been using the product for .... about 1 year.... I think its a great product which I ask others to support. This product is also in my healthy pc steps.

I also put up this site to test out http://scripts.dbmastes.net new community manager content management system which I think is great.

As for the ads, except for adjungle are product I use and think are great. Two of the ad support children's groups.

As for adjugle. I planning on taking that down. I put it up a few days ago to test it out. I have a project coming up for a volunteer activity I'm doing that needs a banner management system. I looking to test out phpadnew next.

As for my intention as stated in the site is for reference for my friends, family, and clients. Also it is for others on the net. Over the years many people have helped me and I would like to help others. I probably volunteer about 200+ hours/year to different causes, so I a little offended. But then again I asked for the feedback.

Anyway .... as for the html compliance .... yeah the html editor in the cms messes some things up. I may not use the editor in the future.

As for the grammer and spelling. Point it out. I try to fix it. I do this stuff late at night mostly...

As for the suing comment .... what's that about? Clue me in.

Seriously, if you have comments on how this process can be better for end users who are newbies please let me know.

This really is a site for fun, testing software and assisting others.

Thanks

you can technically sue anyone for anything, but it doesn't mean you'll win... I have no idea what Tarun's on about :P :P

I've actually talked with a few lawyers before I made that site live, they said it was best to have a disclaimer so I have one that I can use and update (since it says my years of experience). :D

Disclaimer: I am in no way, shape, or form affiliated with these applications. I simply work with them as a hobby. I do however have roughly ten years of computer experience. By viewing this page and/or downloading any files, you agree that I am in no way legally responsible for damage to your computer software or hardware. The entire risk as to the quality and performance of the covered code is with you. Should any covered code prove defective in any respect, you (Not the initial developer or any other contributor) assume the cost of any necessary servicing, repair, or correction. By seeking my assistance you hereby waive any possible means of legal action or otherwise.

The ad was the first thing that caught my attention since I literally haven't seen a banner ad in years. So to my surprise I had one more URL to include into my blocking measures which already blocks hundreds of ad server URL's.
Complexity of incoherent design.

FYI ...

I don't want to seem like a complete moran, but under the Process page I do have the following disclaimer ...
"You may use this process at your own risk. I'm not responsible for any ill effects of any software, routines or suggestions given in this document."

I do appreciate the feedback.

As for the banner ads .... I have set up tens of sites I've used a banner/text ad only once. I never even gave it a second thaught. Wow....

Like I said no biggy. This is just for fun, testing and info for others.
Thanks

My Take on this website is , to take out some ad site links and put in more quality and well known links such as : CCleaner , spywareblaster etc.

IMHO , websites with a lot of ads looks too glitzy and busy for me... B)
Fill in with more content that relates to the site's intention rather than ads .

when designing websites, it is important to know who is the target audiences... and the message to send to the audiences... another thing is that if a website is slow at loading up a page, it will not be conside a good website...
->my opinion - i dont like websites with too many ads...

I must admit, the site already looks better just by removing the adjungle banner.

I never commented on the 2 links at the bottom before, Netsafety and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, these are, I think a very commendable part of the site, although not directly related to the site, they are things that should be made more aware of. You soon forget about malware and the likes when you click the National Center one and see those little kids staring back at you, it almost makes computer problems seem insignificant.

Well done, mwasi.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

I'm going to try to clean this site up a bit this coming weekend and implement many suggestions offered.

I still haven't sent this site out to my friends and family. I would like to complete it and get out a link to them.

I'm surprised no comments regarding the content management system itself. If anyone is interested check out this guy's site. I think his scripts are top notch http://scripts.dbmasters.net

Thanks

Banners and advertisements doesnt look good on a site that's about keeping the computer clean.
If you have to use advertisement, then please use the Google AdSense, it displays only relevant text ads and doesnt look annoying or steal bandwidth.

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%...ypcsteps.com%2F

Your site does not validate to the w3c standards.

The site doesnt give me a good impression.
