Hello,
I'm new to this and hope I'm in the right place. I've recently downloaded CCleaner. And I really like it, but it (or something) seems to be slowing down my computer.
About a week before I installed CCleaner I installed "Registry Mechanic". I like that too, and hadn't noticed it slowing things down. Otherwise everything is the same. I have XP w/sp2 update.
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so any suggestions.
Thanks for your help.
Kak

Slowed down like how? What exactly is it doing?

Just to let you know, I doubt it was CCleaner. All CCleaner does is remove junk, so I doubt removing junk would slow it down.

...unless it removed so much junk that the disk now needs to be defragmented.
Complexity of incoherent design.

I find it very very strange that CCleaner would slow down your computer. It removes unneeded files and temporary files and crap and should speed up the computer.
Maybe you installed something else on the computer that slowed it down.
