I downloaded and installed the latest version of CCleaner today; but when I try to run the program, whether from desktop shortcut or from Program Files, the CCleaner window opens then closes before I can click the "Run Cleaner" or "Analize" buttons.

Try re-downloading it and seeing if that makes a difference...if not, post back.
You can always download an older version, which seems to work for you.
