Wow...that sucks...you think that when you buy a drive, it is totally clean....and guess what? SURPISE!! TROJAN INFECTION

I hope they catch these losers that are doing it.

Probably not much of a problem if people format new disks (not just hard disks) that they get. Although it's an understandable pain if buying a new PC with an OS on it.
Complexity of incoherent design.

I would boot with a Paragon live cd then delete all partitions and recreate/format.

If these drives were internal ones it probably wouldn't matter because people would just reformat them as they installed their OS but these are external usb so as soon as you plug it in your screwed. You would think they would be using better manufacturers to avoid stuff like this(especially a big company like maxtor.)
