AJohn Posted October 27, 2007 Share Posted October 27, 2007 Hello, would it be possible to implement a feature that intercepts API calls and automatically secure deletes files? I have noticed a software called Shred Agent (shredagent.com) that intercepts calls made by any other software (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Windows itself, etc.) and securely deletes the data instead of letting Windows delete it in a non-secure fashion. This Shred Agent is nice, but 60$ is ridiculous for such a feature? Seems like it would not be to difficult for CCleaner to implement, would it? If you're expecting any kind of official reply, suggestions generally don't get one. Personally, though I think the concept is quite cool, I don't think it's one for CCleaner - I don't think it fits CCleaners purpose as a junk file cleaner (not an erase tool), also one that does not need to run in the background. I do not think there would be an issue with people wondering why things they deleted were not going to the Recycle Bin IF it were an advanced feature that had a pop-up warning when enabled. We already get new users coming on here saying they've ticked everything, regardless of the pop-ups already in place for the advanced section. Either way I'm pretty certain this wouldn't be implemented in CCleaner, like I said nice idea though (Personally I use Eraser's right click erase function for everything I delete which has the same end result, ie everything I delete is securely deleted) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
