The Ad-Aware icon appears in the system tray when I turn on my laptop. This has only just started happening - does it need to be there?

I have been into msconfig and unchecked the box in the start-up programs list, but when I then reboot it reappears in the list and the icon reappears in the system tray.

Does anyone know why?

Thanks Mike.

But unless I'm being very stupid (which is more than possible, admitedly), that doesn't tell me why the icon appears in my system tray. (I'm a free-version user.)

It simply tells me that it shouldn't be there - but it is there.

What the last post by Lavasoft said was. That they had now removed the icon from the tray for Free users. You have to update to the latest version of the program
