I hope you're using Firefox. Also, RAM "Optimizer" programs and myths, just like download accelerators. They do nothing, or make things worse.
Since you're on Windows 98SE, see my homepage and get the Windows 98SE Service Pack 2.0.1, it'll make your pc a LOT smoother.

Doesn't Tarun have a point , the Windows Update just sits there and at timed intervals shells to the Updates page where you pick the recommended updates.
My Updates are not active as I chose to go to the Download page myself...when I choose to update
Thanx Twisted Metal......

I will install FireFox and Thunderbird then run the 98SE Update....
I hope everything goes good ...I will keep posted....
I have one concern with running the 98SE Update though, I like the icons I have now (downloaded from icon packager) but the update pack has xp icons. I think these are optional , does that interpret as : I can manually load these?

Hide IE from desktop (YAY): Open IE >Tools > Internet Options... > Advanced tab, and look for the last item under the category Browsing. Clear the checkbox next to "Show Internet Explorer on the Desktop," then click OK (or Apply, then OK).
