Is DSOStop still needed for IE users, or has the issue been fixed in IE7, or awhile back in IE6 for that matter? I'm not sure how to find out if it's still needed. I just trusted Andavari that it was needed way back when. Ahhhh, the good old days.

Don't know if it's needed anymore, but i have got 'DSOStop2' since i bought this current computer back in July 2004.

My 'DSOStop2' protection is still enabled, but i'm not sure if IE7 got that "Data Source Object" vulnerability...? Anyway, i use Opera as my default browser.

Thanks. How do I find out if it's still needed though? I have had it installed for a few years myself. Just wondering if I should still be telling people to use it or not.

I think that when you first time use it, it should tell you, if your system is safe from DSO vulnerability or not.

Okay, found it.

The fixes for these issues will be included in IE 6.0 Service Pack 1.

The fixes for the issues affecting IE 5.01 Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 3 will be included in Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.

Fix huh, I remember DSOstop2 stating that IE7 still had the bug. Note that I'm talking about the first stable public release of IE7, so I don't know what MS has done since it's release.
