Hi all

I'm a new user with CCleaner and probally this question has been answered before, sorry if it has.

Downloaded CCleaner and everytime I use it . it deletes all my recent AntiVir updates.

Had a look in the cleaner settings panel and everythings ticked apart from Advanced.

Would anyone know a solution to this to stop CCleaner deleting the AntiVir updates.

Thanks, Pedro.

Your not going to get much help with that post. You dont include what antivirus your using.

If you're using a winapp2.ini entry make sure AntiVir is unticked in:
Cleaner -> Applications

Very true, my aplogies. Wonder how they ever slipped that tradename past the authorities its soo generic.

Anyway its not defined in winapp2, its in winapp.ini and the details of what CCleaner is deleting are:

[AntiVir PE Classic]
FileKey1=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\FAILSAVE|*.*
FileKey2=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\INFECTED|*.*
FileKey3=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\LOGFILES|*.*
FileKey4=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\SYSSAVE|*.*
FileKey5=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\TEMP|*.*
FileKey6=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\UPDATE|*.*
FileKey7=%ProgramFiles%\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic|*.old

[AntiVir PE Premium]
FileKey1=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium\FAILSAVE|*.*
FileKey2=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium\INFECTED|*.*
FileKey3=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium\LOGFILES|*.*
FileKey4=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium\SYSSAVE|*.*
FileKey5=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium\TEMP|*.*
FileKey6=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium\UPDATE|*.*
FileKey7=%ProgramFiles%\AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium|*.old

It is indeed a very generic name to use as many people in the past on other forums I no longer visit used to refer to any antivirus (insert brand) as antivir. Then there were those that used to always say viri.
