Security update for CAPICOM

Size: 374 KB

A remote code execution vulnerability exists in Cryptographic API Component Object Model (CAPICOM) that allows an attacker who successfully exploits this vulnerability to take complete control of an affected system. CAPICOM can be used as a component of a 3rd party webpage, script or application. You can protect your computer by installing this update from Microsoft.

More information for this update can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931906

The Microsoft Update website doesn't detect that update as available for my WinXP SP2 system.
Complexity of incoherent design.

Mine either, though there was one other high priority update.

It didn't detect an update for my system either, I have WinXP SP2. What day of the month do these updates fall on so I can quit wasting my time checking?

Every second Tuesday of each month typically - but sometimes if somethings critical enough they could release it earlier. You still of course need to visit the Microsoft update website to get non-critical updates like Root Certificates which I updated just the other day.
Complexity of incoherent design.
