I was just wondering why bookmarks always seem to be lost on firefox, but never Internet Explorer?

Also, why have mozilla never resolved the issue. Are their any extensions that can help me? I prefer to save my bookmarks on my computer, rather then uploading them and having to register for any service.

I've never lost Firefox bookmarks in a year or so of using it. You could try FEBE to regularly back them up: https://addons.mozil...efox/addon/2109

Thanks. I always seem to lose my bookmarks once in a while. Even if I completely reinstall the programme, the problem still remains.

The only time I've lost firefox bookmarks was following a power failure with many tabs open, and other applications running, too. That took a bit of sorting! But Firefox generally has been totally reliable.

Never lost Firefox bookmarks ever on many different machines over two years now.

Nice thing about laptops is if/when the power goes out you are running on batteries instantly so no improper shut downs happen. Probably messed up your profile.
