isaias malta
Today my system mechanic 7.0 anti-virus detected a backdoor virus in the CCleaner uninst.exe and installation executable 1.40 version. The same event was registered at fprot forum today, maybe can exist a virus called W32/Backdoor.ATUJ at downloadable CCleaner program. What's the truth? Moderators TwistedMetal Posted June 30, 2007 Moderators Share Posted June 30, 2007 This happens a lot, it's a false positive. CCleaner does not contain a virus, adware, or spyware. lightningpete
... which is why you should submit the file to System Mechanic Support so that they can fix this FP. and the fact that you made sure you downloaded ONLY from ccleaners website and not third party sites, which are liable to contain additional CRAP that this cleaner likes to sort out
