also, i want dual monitor. i have 2 monitors but am wondoring how it will plug in as i believe theres only 1 connection on video cards. could i use the onboard? doesnt every video card support 2 monitors?

For dual monitor just don't disable your on board video when you put the new one in.
You can have two monitors on one video card but both will display identically 1:1 open MS Word, it will appear on both, enter text, it will be on both).

As for a video card below $100 (do I assume $US ?) you can get a GeForce 7600GT for under $100 USD on newegg.com (only used this site because it seems popular in the US)
or a GeForce 6600GT to a 7300 for under $100 AUD on gamedude.com.au

We use the 6600GTv and it's quite good.

I recommend looking for reviews on various cards before purchasing, if you plan on gaming with it.

I haven't seen firewire included on any of those cards (S-Video / DVI / VGA / SLI / Composite (via s-video) HDTV)

TigerDirect.com if you are in the US. Really good prices on most items. ZipZoomFly.com is another site...haven't personally bought from there, but my relative has and trusts it.

I would stay away from TigerDirect.

[H] is one of the more popular e-zines, here's the link for their video card reviews: http://www.hardocp.com/reviews.html?cat=My...GhlbnRodXNpYXN0

For about 150$ you can get some -serious- performance.

Any particular reason why? I've had good experiences from there, and so have my friends who have bought from there. Did you or someone you know have a bad time, or is something else causing you to say this.

I don't use tiger direct because others dont. Newegg is what I like, since everyone else suggests it. I believe it's cheaper too!
