I'm using CCleaner V1.40.520
I just noticed that my c:\Temp folder does not get cleaned out, so assuming c:\Temp is not a 'standard' windows folder, I added it using 'options' 'custom' so I now see the following:
Custom files to delete and folders to empty
C:\Temp\*.*
However this folder is never emptied no matter how I run the program.
I've tried re-booting,
Is there a switch somewhere which makes it ignore custom files?

As usual, when I get to the point of reporting a problem, having tried everything I can think of, as soon as I've pressed the send button, I then find the solution myself!
I had assumed that if someone adds an entry to the 'custom delete' section, that the software would turn on that option.
I hadn't noticed that there is a flag for 'custom files & folders' in the 'Advanced' section.
So all that was needed was that flag to be set!
Sorry to waste time, but maybe in a future version, you could change the process slightly. When someone adds custom folder(s) and or file(s) the software allerts the user that doing so will cause the deletion of the files and asks them to OK that. But it DOESN'T then actually set the flag to delete them so nothing gets deleted!
If you have asked if it's ok to delete them, then I think most people would assume the program will then delete them without you having to change settings.

Welcome to the forums DaveE! 
That has stumped many people so you're by far not the first! 
Not a complaint however it would be nice if CCleaner would have some pop-up that would immediately allow for that little Custom Files and Folders box to be ticked, or at the least have some brief in-program text that states it has to be enabled in order to work.
