Hey there, the business i work for has a network of 15+ P.C.s And we have one of those know it all types in here that figures having a shared file to a file on everyone elses hard drive is cool and flatters their ego. . . "Hey look how smart i am"

Anyways it makes exploring the network a pain in the butt 75 plus shared files......

We just acquired a few more computers from another failed business. and i was wondering if i could take the crappy one and set it up on the network as a simple all purpose storage device accesible by all users. Like a server but not you know. It has crap for ram a decent processor, and a huge harddrive. Our main server is dedicated to our POS software so i dont want ot bog it down with that stuff.

I just figured it might be a good idea for a multitude of reasons. But not sure if there is anything in particular i should know to do this.

Any words of wisdom?

Yea it's not hard, just share it out and set permissions and all should be fine.
