What anti-vius/security software are you using?

Did you get Ccleaner  from here?

https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds

Did you already have a version of ccleaner installed and you installed it 'over the top' ?

If yes, can you try uninstalling previous build and install the new build as a fresh install.

Do you leave all settings as default?

Are you talking about the Cleaner or the registry cleaner part?

Do you have Winapp2.ini instaled or any othe 3rd party cleaner?

Thanks for your reply.

I have Avast Antivirus Free Edition and Windows Firewall.

I have just uninstalled  CCleaner and reinstalled using your link. Settings as default.

The program now gets as far as opening but then crashes. Previously it didn't open before causing crash.

I have not tried running in safe mode but will if you suggest so.

I do not have Winapp2.ini or any 3rd party cleaner.

Await your response.

since CC is now running, try running it with the /debug switch.
