ccleaner file backup before cleaning

After using CCleaner several times, I noticed that some programs continue to run when called by another programs such as Word but do not appear in the list of programs.  I can't uninstall them to install updates.  I can't be absolutely sure CCleaner is at fault, but it's a prime suspect.  Does CCleaner make backup files of things it is about to clean?  If so, how do I find them?

I didn't grasp much of that except the last two sentences, and the answer are no, and you can't, although  you can run Analyse and then right click and save the list to a text file.
