Nickkirc
Hello, I have a crashed hard drive from a laptap. The laptop would not boot returning unable to read drive. I took out the drive and hook it up to a cms drive box and connected it to another computer. The new computer would assign a drive letter, but would not read the drive. I downloaded the recurva software, installed, and opened it. The software shows the assigned drive letter, however, when proceeding to select that drive, the software returns: Unable to open drive". Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Moderators mta Posted September 20, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 20, 2014 first guess is the drive has died at the physical level. if available, try connecting it to a Linux PC as I have had some success with Linux reading drives that Windows couldn't. on a side note: using an email address as your member ID may not be advisable.
