defrag more than once a day

 i have to defrag 3 times on my velociraptor drive to get the right performance with defraggler i recommend everyone do 2 minimum back to back

on internet explorer 11 temporary internet files  can rack up to 20 30 40 50 thousand files even after it closes schedule cleaners are fine but not reliable opera is my main browser for over 10 yrs it has setting where you can change it to 0 but thats only if you have a big page file (8000gb+) set or a lot of memory (6gb+) i can have 100 to 400 tabs open in different windows at a time  if it defrag before i wake up and i use the pc during the day it'll start to lag because it defragged files but not reorganize like if you were to defrag twice  to people like me will notice the slow down or just get a drive with great 4k random read/write features 

 

if you get a chance defrag with defraggler back to back and take note to the random read speeds before and after

probably an area of lag that has never happened to me as I have always run any browser I've ever used in private mode.

I'm quite happy to re-type my passwords rather than have all those temp files build up.

 

but as an exercise I shall see what happens running DF back-to-back.  have to say, not something I've even contemplated before.

Try reducing Internet browsers cache size. They tend to be humongous by default. 200-300 MB should suffice. I have seen IE to build a cache as big as several gigabytes.

 

Try reducing pagefile size too if it isn't needed. I have 8 GB RAM and my pagefile is 1GB in size. It can grow if needed though.

its not just internet explorer a program like imvu does the same theres always gonna be a heavy user that generates alot of small files even uninstalling and installing small or big games cad adobe type software but just follow everyones simple solution of an ssd which isnt good for constant writing just reading

 

i use ie11 from time to time and i know about the settings but i use opera 90% of the time and has the same settings to where it deletes everything after i close it but still grow files as i go i have an x79 system with 20gb of memory and a 12gb custom page file (automatic page files will need to defrag during boot or every restart for better performance in which i thank for defraggler of have the option of[settings:boot time defrag;everytime])  ic diamond 7 thermal paste all cpu gpu chipset mosfets with 4 fans so i know heat is not an issue 

 

i've watch defraggler and if the blocks are an accurate image of files on a drive i've watch the blue rearrange to free space then back one 99% big blue block during the second defrag and the read speed increases program/files load speed increases

 

since there's is an option of defragging daily add the option of optional hours

i know about the setiings it doesnt help, a small page file will expand and shrink and need to be defragged if you have a hard drive of 160gb or bigger have a custom page of 8gb to avoid the long defrag of a page file during boot
