CcleanerUser45
Hiya I have been a happy user of your product since Windows 7 came out. Thank you. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 64bit. Clean install (not upgrade) from the Dvd image. I Have installed the latest version (CCleaner 5.12.5431 free edition from file hippo) I set it to clean upon startup. 3 pass secure wipe. However it doesn't clear the history of sites viewed in edge browser. For example I will view some topics on something like 'football'. I will close the browser amd run ccleaner and then when I type 'football' in the address bar it will list previously visited sites. This also remains after several restarts and ccleaner runs fully upon startup (no other programs open). I noticed the analysis shows 4 files for the history with 0kb size. Has anyone got a fix or workaround for this? Cheers
Moderators mta Posted November 27, 2015 Moderators Share Posted November 27, 2015 I think CC and Edge still don't play nice together. You'll find other threads on this topic in the Forum as well. Edge is still 'evolving' and CC doesn't quiet have its measure yet. Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last. Moderators hazelnut Posted November 27, 2015 Moderators Share Posted November 27, 2015 A workaround for now is just to clean from within Edge for now. Right hand side top of Edge page, three lines (hamburger) near star, then click on the clock like symbol. CcleanerUser45
Hiya Thanks guys, for replying so quickly. Good to know it isn't just my system that is experiencing the issue. I understand that you can clear the history manually but this isn't the same as using CCleaner to clean it. I will have to revert back to using Internet Explorer at the moment. This seems to be cleaning as expected. Hopefully they will work out how to clean Edge soon.
