gsinkinson
When my 6 month old Windows 8.1 system suddenly slowed down, I decided to check the Startup entries as a potential source of the problem. In several of the sections I noticed apparently duplicate entries. For example, in the Internet Explorer section, I can see entries for the same file ( C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\WCIEActiveX\AcroIEFavClient.dll ) for two different programs ( Adobe Acrobat Create PDF from Selection and Adobe Acrobat Create PDF Helper ). Is that a normal occurance? Do both entries need to be disabled or just one? In other cases, I have a Program (Adobe Acrobat Create PDF Toolbar) pointing to the same file name in two different paths ( C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\WCIEActiveX\AcroIEFavClient.dll and C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\WCIEActiveX\x64\AcroIEFavClient.dll ).That apparently accounts for 32 and 64 bit versions. Is that fairly typical and are both needed? Or is that a question for Adobe?
