dunworking
From: dunworking: I've used Ccleaner for years with no problems. I recently installed v5.04 but when I click the icon to start it my PC closes down and restarts. I run XP and SP2. I don't want to instal SP3 or any other Windows version. If this is the only way out I will stop using Ccleaner unless an new version can be supplied. Regards

dunworking
Thankyou MTA. Have looked at the fix and doesn't quite seem to fit my symptoms. Think I'll wait and see if Piriform come up with their own fix. Thanks for your interest on this lovely Summer's day in UK. dunworking

dunworking
Thankyou Call me a chicken but I've gone back to v4.4064 pro tem. since this worked in the past. The hotfix looked rather complex when I checked it! Calm has been maintained.
dunworking
From: dunworking I've tried 505.5176 but this also restarts my PC. Hopefully this problem is being looked at by Piriform as others must also be affected?
Moderators Nergal Posted April 25, 2015 Moderators Share Posted April 25, 2015 Piriform's fix is that hotfix ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
