burnbag
Defraggler seems to work well on all but one (D not the OS) of my drives. With repeated attempts it doesn’t defrag the free space. Defraggler: v2.18.945 (64-bit) (free) Advanced: Stop VSS when defrag, Exclude Restore Point. Hibernate is turned off and No pagefile on this drive. Drive: Seagate 1.5TB ST2000DL003 Health: Good Free space: 900+ GB OS: Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 It took me a while to figure out how get rid of unmovable stuff: Move pagefile.sys to another drive Turn off Hibernate Turn off system restore for that drive then delete all system restore points freed up over 100 GB of non moveable crap. Still, It reports 2 files 5 fragments. But there's lots o stuff mixed into the free space. How do I defrag the free space? eL_PuSHeR
IMHO the Defrag Freespace algorithms are quite bugged right now. Sometimes it does its work, sometimes it introduces a lot more fragmentation.
