Maschatje
Dear forum users I scanned a not so well working harddisk, which I formatted, and I am trying to recover pictures. Recuva found a lot of pictures and they appear to be in excellent condition. However, when I want to recover them, in about 3 or 4 seconds I get the message "the system cannot find the file specified". So nothing gets recovered. I would really appreciate some suggestions! Thanks, Mascha
Moderators hazelnut Posted April 21, 2016 Moderators Share Posted April 21, 2016 Where are you trying to recover them to? (hopefully another drive) Is the other drive 'started' ? MacBert
I have the exact same problem. In my case i have put the once OS drive into an external box which mounts as D: but is not readable by the OS. I ran a deep scan for pictures (though pictures and video would have been a nice option to combine), it ran overnight but the PC went to sleep. When I woke it up, the drive light shows it's active and i also power cycled it after getting the message above. No previews shown for any pictures. Using up to date Windows 10.
