Sometimes I have a few files scattered but I don't want them to move to the bottom, but to the first large enough gap. And besides these files the drive is pretty well so a defrag is not needed. I'm surprised it hasn't got some sort of traction with the Dev Team. it would be nice if someone-in-the-know could put this suggestion to bed with either It's not something DF will ever do or It's on the short list of future enhancements.
