some obvious causes may include;

  • how badly fragmented is it?
  • have you turned off your AV software?
  • did you stop VSS?
  • did you exclude restore points and hibernation file?
  • what are your system resources; ram, cpu?
  • did you run CC first so as not to defrag crap/temp files and to empty the recycle bin?

some other questions;  120gig is an unusual drive capacity, is it a SSD?

also try running DF from Safe Mode so no other background task come into play.

Backup now & backup often.
