rsgametech
Hi a great feature would be 1 click cleanup & registry option with the ability to schedule.
Moderators Nergal Posted September 1, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 1, 2014 No it wouldn't. You never should clean everything listed on the registry analysis. If you've not experienced issues doing this in the past, it just dumb luck and at some point it will break something. Read my signature ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. rsgametech
Using ccleaner and various registry cleaners for years, never had a problem..ever. Incorporate an automatic back up feature. ccleaner already backups manually.
Alan_B
Rubbish Stuff happens Just because a registry backup file is successfully created (assuming that Windows is in a good mood) is no guarantee that Windows will be able to correctly restore the backup when it is realized that the system has been damaged by an excessive purge of the registry. Moderators Nergal Posted September 1, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 1, 2014 Backup doesn't always fix. It's your PC I don't really care if you mess it up by cleaning without looking (I do like how, after I stated, not having a break is a matter of "yet", you still tried to say it ) Your suggestion has been made a multitude of times throughout ccleaner's history. While I highly object to it, personally, and feel it will not ever be added, I will repeat my rote but true statement; all suggestions are read by the developers, they do often add viable and popular suggestions; so even if regular visitors here, such as myself, may dislike a suggestion does not mean it won't make it in the program (ahem drive wiper & duplicate finder) Edit: ninja'd by @Alan_B ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Moderators mta Posted September 2, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 2, 2014 plus you may run the reg cleaner many times, over many months before a 'corruption' makes itself known, then it's a guessing game as to which reg backup file to use, then it has to be retrofitted with other changes since that backup, it all gets messy quickly. -1 to the 1-click suggestion +1 to making reg backups automated (or a user controlled option) Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last.
