Kaspersky system changes control

Hi,

Since I updated CCleaner to version 5.10.5273, every time I use the application  I get a warning from 

Kaspersky : "canceled change of google chrome settings by CCleaner"

The application was not allowed to change the browser configuration file.

 

I really wonder what it means and what can be done.

Do I have to worry about it ?

CC is trying to 'clean' Chrome info (cookies, sites, temp files, databases etc) and Kaspersky is warning you of the fact.

If you want CC to clean up after Chrome, Kaspersky will need tweaking to allow that.

Thanks for your reply, it makes sense but ...... this is only happening since I updated CCleaner and on one computer only,

KIS 2016 is installed on all computers, OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, with System Changes Control enabled.

that does sound strange on the face of it, but there must be a reason behind what you are seeing.

do all PC's have the same version of CC, KIS and Windows?

all have the latest updates?

 

or to spin it another way, what is different between the PC's?

any chance KIS has already been tweaked to allow/ignore CC on those other PC's?

 

but, to get over the hurdle on the PC in question, tell KIS to allow CC.

So now I clicked to always allow CC on the PC in question !

Sounds like some kind of system HIPS control and your changing of the setting to allow CCleaner to do its work should do the trick.

@Andavari : thanks for the link to the pdf, I saved it;

 

Under application control Piriform is and was under trusted applications.

The problem was with system changes and I had to allow CCleaner to make changes, like explained by mta, in order to have cookies etc. cleaned.
