<_< Was just snooping around and googled for index.dat files and how to delete them and found this neat little tool. It's not free but the trial version works great and used "EulAlyzer" to check it out.

I'm curious as to why I haven't heard from any of the CCleaner "GURU'S about index.dat files. CCleaner has these files listed under Internet Explorer as an option. However after running the cleaner the index.dat files are stated as "marked for deletion" and not deleted. How do I delete them using CCleaner. Can one of the more learned members clear this up for me?

CCleaner deletes them upon rebooting. No matter what tool you use to delete them they'll automatically get recreated when your system starts, they'll of course not contain any retraceble data in them until you use Internet Explorer.
