Snapchat is valued at $10 billion, with its 24-year-old CEO Evan Spiegel paying himself a $10 million salary. Yet in the wake of a third-party breach which allowed hackers to post hundreds of thousands of private Snapchat photos on the Internet, the company now claims it has neither the time or money to keep its customers secure

Wow,

10Mil salary, security lacking, I think it's a good business plan Evan Spiegel has going there <_< .

What can you do with 10Mil, if put towards securing once business  ?

"They don't have the money to add security", yet in my opinion one can't afford to not have security.

If this is about those celebrity photos stolen, well they shouldn't put birthday suit photos on the Internet, there's a thing called Common Sense.

This begs the question,
how secure are the websites and applications we use. Being on PC, laptops and smartphones.

In my opinion I think there are a lot of "updates" released that includes security updates that us users will know about.

“Snapchatters were victimised by their use of third-party apps to send and receive Snaps, a practice that we expressly prohibit in our Terms of Use precisely because they compromise our users’ security…We vigilantly monitor the App Store and Google Play for illegal third-party apps and have succeeded in getting many of these removed.”
