Szpaku94
Hi. I don't know what to do. Defraggler stopped answering me when I was exploring this program. Window has just frozen, but as I can hear my disk working what propapbly means that defragmentation is in progress. I don't want to kill that process (operation) due to possibilty of losing my data. What can I do?My system is Windows XP Home Edition 32-bit SP3.Screenshot attached.*EDIT*Defraggler version 2.18.945*EDIT2*Allright. I decided to close that program and after that I realised something strange. Even if I couldn't see that is defraggler working it was. After closing this program defragmentation process was stopped. But is still one little ask: Could Support try to fix that issue? defrag-frozen.bmp
Moderators mta Posted April 17, 2014 Moderators Share Posted April 17, 2014 It is usually quite safe to stop the defrag process mid-use. The file getting defrag'd and any files being moved to accommodate that file could have more fragments than when you first started, but that will get remedied at the next defrag. Above and beyond the normal culprits, you could have other programs running in the background while you are using DF that could be causing your problem. Try running DF in Safe Mode to at least see that it runs to completion. If so then you may have a program/task conflicting with the defrag process. That could be anything from a scheduled task, updates or the AV software. Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last. Moderators hazelnut Posted April 18, 2014 Moderators Share Posted April 18, 2014 Looking at your screenshot does it say you were defragmenting C drive and there was only 4% free space on it? Szpaku94
mta.Thank You. I will check this out on safe mode.hazelnutNope. I wouldn't defrag disk without having at least 15% free space or at least 4 GB free space (taken bigger value). I had just clicked on it. I know that polish language can be incomprehesible for the rest. I was defragmenting partition D.
